WHO
Mentors - Adult volunteers who are 18+ years old, have completed Companions for Children's Screening Process, live in Minot, ND or a 15-mile radius, have a supervisor who is supportive of participation, and can volunteer for a minimum of one school year (Aug - May).

​Mentees - Students in a participating elementary school classroom in Minot, ND.
WHAT
A Pen Pal relationship empowers the student to unlock their full personal and academic potential.
Developing academic skills, self-confidence, and self-concept.
WHEN
At home, work, wherever! Mentors are provided a one week timeline to read their students letter and write a corresponding letter, making this a very flexible volunteer opportunity.
WHERE
All communication for Pen Pals is done remotely, no in-person meetings.
