Heather has been the Executive Director with Companions for Children since July, 2013. She was born and raised in Minot, ND. She attended Minot State University, graduating in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing and Management Information Systems. She then attended University of Mary, receiving her MBA with an Executive and Healthcare focus. Heather has chose to work with Companions for Children because she has a passion for giving back to her community. She loves seeing how children in the program are becoming more confident and growing into young adults with the help of their mentors. Heather enjoys spending time with her husband Tyler, daughter Veda, and kitty Dexter. She also enjoys camping, reading, and whatever her daughter is learning about!

Kat moved to Minot from Underwood, ND in 2009. She is currently attending Minot State University for a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Kat has been a community-based mentor with Companions for Children since September 2020. She has had a passion in giving back to the community and loves having a role in helping make a difference in children’s lives. Kat enjoys spending her time with her husband, Anthony, two corgis, Hugo & Judith, and cat, Benson. When she’s not busy with her animals you will find Kat reading a good book, DIY-ing everything, or binge watching the latest Netflix craze.
