Get to Know Us
Heather has been the Executive Director with Companions for Children since July, 2013. She was born and raised in Minot, ND. She attended Minot State University, graduating in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing and Management Information Systems. She then attended University of Mary, receiving her MBA with an Executive and Healthcare focus. Heather has chose to work with Companions for Children because she has a passion for giving back to her community. She loves seeing how children in the program are becoming more confident and growing into young adults with the help of their mentors. Heather enjoys spending time with her husband Tyler and kitty Dexter, in addition to camping, fishing, exercise classes and reading!
Jalisa moved to Minot from Custer, WA in 2013 to attend Minot State University. She graduated with her Bachelor’s in Finance followed by her Master’s in Science and Management in 2018. Jalisa is expecting her first child in August and is enthusiastic about the success and well being of all children in our community. Jalisa comes from a background in the nonprofit sector and is excited to continue her work making a difference directly in kids’ lives serving the Companions for Children mission. Jalisa enjoys spending her time with her husband Brett and two dogs Piper and Ted. She enjoys spending her free time doing crafts, home improvement projects, cooking and most recently preparing for a new baby!
Taylor moved to Minot, Nd from Mabelvale, Arkansas. She is attending Minot University where she is working toward earning her Bachelor’s in Business Management and plans to get her MBA after. Taylor is passionate about giving back to her community and working at Companions for Children has given her a chance to do so. She loves seeing how our mentor’s guide and nurture the children in the community into who they meant to be. Taylor enjoys spending time with her family, her husband Zach and their one dog and two cats, Tail, Tatsu, and Udi. She also spends her free time reading, camping with friends, and trying out new cooking recipes.
